Our Story

2023

How they met

A fateful night where they both decided to swipe right. Few months later, Michael decided to lend Hugrún some socks and shelter her from the rain in Vestmannaeyjar.

2023

The first date

The tallest glass of red wine, coffee and sunshine at Babalú. Safe to say, they both were pretty smitten.

2024

The first "I love you"

Lying in bed after a difficult ski day in Italy, they declared their love.

2024

Got Colleen

Their hearts had a little more space to fill. They brought home a kitten, confidently named her Ásgeir. Upon discovering she was not, in fact, a boy — she became Colleen.

2025

Buying their apartment

As cozy as the tiny apartment was, they wanted a bigger space and create their home together.

2026

The Proposal

At an airport hotel in Munich, Michael got down on one knee. Hugrún of course said yes.

We have exclusive use of Darver Castle for the day! Here's everything you need to know to get there and accommodation.

Getting to Ireland

The closest airport is Dublin Airport (DUB), which has direct flights from Iceland. Darver Castle is about 1 hour north of Dublin by car, just outside Dundalk in Co. Louth.

Getting to the Castle

If you’d prefer not to drive, you can take a bus or train to Dundalk, followed by a 15-minute taxi drive to the venue.

🏰 Staying at the Castle

We have accommodation on-site for 110 guests across the Castle, Courtyard, Stables and Oakwood Cottage. Castle rooms are reserved for family and the wedding party — the remaining rooms are available to guests on a first come, first served basis.

Everyone who RSVPs will receive a link in email for booking. Darver requires a €50 deposit to secure a room. Check-in is from 2pm april 4th, check-out by 11am april 5th.

Rooms range from €115 (single) to €290 (quad), all including breakfast.

Black tie optional — we'd love to see you dressed up. Think elegant evening wear. Please avoid white and ivory out of respect for the bride.

Due to venue capacity, we're only able to accommodate guests named on the invitation. If your invitation includes a plus one, you'll see the option in the RSVP form.

The ceremony begins at 3:00 PM. Please plan to arrive by 2:45 PM so you can find your seat and settle in before we begin.

Ireland in April can be cool and unpredictable — expect temperatures around 8–14°C. It may rain, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or coat for any outdoor moments. The venue is mostly indoors, so you'll be comfortable throughout.

Please respond by February 1st, 2027. This helps us plan catering, seating, and accommodation accurately. We'd truly appreciate your reply as early as possible!
